Is walking good for you? You bet it is! Walking and hiking are powerful cardio workouts that can:
Boost bone density, since walking is a weight-bearing exercise, build strength in your upper and lower legs and the muscles in your hips. Strengthen your core, improve balance and so much more.
If you have always thought, you would love to hike or just explore some of our beautiful national parks then join us.
Beginner sessions If you are new to exercise, just getting back into it, very overweight; one of us will train you one on one until you feel and are ready to join the group. Do it with a friend or 2 – we can cater for this. Times for these one on one will be negotiated based on availability.

Summer start time 6 am – Saturday & Sunday sessions
2nd, 3rd & 4th Saturday of each month – 1.75 hours
(Breakfast catch-up for those who don’t have to rush off)
1st Sunday of each month – 2 to 2.5 hours

Thursday 6 am – 1.25 hours
- Meeting point J C Slaughter Falls, Mt Cootha. Last car park from the road (keep driving until you can’t go any further)
- Please arrive at least 5 minutes early – we leave promptly
- Bring water pack or bottle, wear supportive walking or hiking shoes, comfortable clothes, hat and towel for stretching.
